I was totally up for this but it’s an understandable tale. There was this Compaq notebook pc some years ago, nearly new, latest technology but a dinosaur to us now, and along came this large glass of orange juice. Mine. From that point forward, I carried an external keyboard. So hopeful you can get *yours* more easily restored. Bonne chance!
Hope your laptop can be easily fixed in the apple store.
I’m an agile project manager, for software and engineering teams. About 10 years ago, one of my clients was a government science laboratory. I flew to London for a meeting with my new contact at the lab, Gary. When we broke for lunch, I was telling him about the episode of Darren Brown’s show I’d seen where Derren had been debunking psychics who do cold reading, because, I explained, it was obviously total nonsense. I thought I was on safe ground in a science lab.
I found out later that Gary was a practicing medium, and some sort of pagan wizard. It’s fair to say relations between he and I were strained thereafter.
Yes it was thanks Hattie. Not brilliantly so to be truthful, but I'm learning to be less judgmental and just accept that progress is progress. I am writing a memoir and I spent a productive hour journalling around a difficult subject. So not exactly 'writing' but at least engaging with something that bothers me about the whole project.
So glad you got your Mac fixed. The GENIUS guys have never let me down - they are simply wonderful. And I've rarely had to pay them. Another good reason why Apple computers cost a little more than the alternative.
Well done for doing it! I think journalling around a tricky area is very wise and not particularly easy. I hope it moved you forward in some way (I'm sure it did).
IT IS FIXED, HALLELUJAH. Thanks everyone for your kindness and patience. Shall we try again this Sunday?

Oh god what an absolute nightmare! RIP your Compaq keyboard.

"some sort of pagan wizard"!! This made me laugh so much.
Just bad luck. The Apple guys will sort it out, in my experience e they always do. I’m going to stick to the hour.
They did, and I almost hugged the guy. That's great that you stuck to the hour! Was it productive?

Oh dear. What a nightmare. I've had a similar close call recently. Hope everything works out.
Nearly 3k words is incredible – well done!
