I’m so sorry to say that due to a technical problem (caused by me being idiotic), I’m having to postpone the In Writing Creative Hour.
This morning before setting off from the coast to come back to Paris, I put my laptop in a bag that I’d previously taken to the beach. The bag contained a bit of sand, and unfortunately my laptop now seems to contain a bit of sand too. Needless to say it isn’t working properly.
I’ve made an appointment at the Apple Store, where I’ll be trying out some new French phrases like ‘Je pense qu’il y a un peu de sable sous le clavier.’ Pray for me and my laptop.
I’m very sorry for the cancellation and I will reschedule once I’m back up and running. In the meantime, please don’t let this stop you from spending an hour writing, if you were planning to join us – try sticking to the same time slot if the illusion of that structure is helpful (that kind of trick often works for me). Let me know how you get on, and if you have your own computer meltdown horror stories, do share those too – let’s wallow together.
Thanks for your patience! More soon.
IT IS FIXED, HALLELUJAH. Thanks everyone for your kindness and patience. Shall we try again this Sunday?
I was totally up for this but it’s an understandable tale. There was this Compaq notebook pc some years ago, nearly new, latest technology but a dinosaur to us now, and along came this large glass of orange juice. Mine. From that point forward, I carried an external keyboard. So hopeful you can get *yours* more easily restored. Bonne chance!
