Write with me at 10am BST
Join the In Writing Creative Hour this morning, and let's be productive together.
If you have a little free time this morning (or whatever time of day it is where you are, when it’s 10am in London), please join me for the second In Writing Creative Hour. The idea is to get together on Google Meet for an hour of focused, companionable silence while we write.
I find this a really lovely, motivating thing to do – there’s something about being together that gives a sense of creative solidarity, even though we’re all on mute in our separate homes.
It’s also just lovely to meet you and put faces to this newsletter’s subscribers – so I hope you’ll come along.
The schedule
10am London time: Click the link below to open Google Meet.
I’d love you to switch your camera on for the first few minutes while we settle in, and keep it on throughout the hour if you can bear it (it adds to the sense that we’re all together). As for microphones, it’s probably easiest to follow a general rule of staying on mute, and unmuting when required.
10.05am-ish: Writing time. If you’re running late, you’re welcome to slip in whenever. As for what to write – it’s totally up to you. Pick up a project that you’ve been neglecting, start something new, or if you’re stuck for inspiration, do some journalling/morning pages or write a letter.
10.55am-ish: We’ll return to wrap up the hour and reflect on how it went.
11am: Head off to enjoy your Sunday in the knowledge that you’ve already achieved something. If you feel like it, share a snippet of what you’ve written in the comments for this post.
