Attempting to be Out Of Office...
...but hoping to see you at an online writing party on Sunday.
I’m on holiday this week – theoretically, although I’ve just filed a 1700-word magazine feature (that’s freelance life) – so I’m going to keep this newsletter very short. I don’t know about you, but sometimes I need a break from writing, or at least a break from the kind of writing that’s done under pressure. Sometimes I need to let my imagination unravel a bit without any expectations or schedule. What about you – do you take holidays from writing?
The main thing I want to do today is invite you to join me this Sunday for another In Writing Creative Hour: a gathering on Google Meet to write, apart but together.
We did one back in June and I loved it – I don’t think I was the only one. Lots of people said they got a lot of writing done, and I think it got the day off to a good start for all of us.
I’ll be sending out the link to paid subscribers a few hours before we start, but put it in your diary now if you’d like to try it:
10am BST, Sunday 7 August
It’s an hour for you to work on whatever you please, whether that’s freewriting, starting something you’ve been putting off, or chipping away at an ongoing project (which is what I’ll be doing). Please invite others along if you think they might enjoy it.
If you want to join in, you will need a paid subscription, which you can find here:
I hope to see lots of you then.
(I’ve said this before, but important to mention again: the inspiration for these get-togethers comes from the London Writers’ Salon’s daily Writers’ Hours, which are brilliant.)
Normal service resumes next Thursday with a proper newsletter. Meanwhile, good luck with your writing this week (or if you’re taking a holiday too, then enjoy your well-earned break)!
Thank you Hattie and have a lovely holiday!
I'm up for it H :) xxxxx
